The video is an imagining of a scene in H.P Lovecraft's novel, 'The Shunned House', 1922 via David Lynch's, 'Eraserhead', 1977. In conjunction to the moving image the work is overlayed with a soundtrack of my 18 month old son screaming. In the film an event, the expansion of foam is sped up from 2 hours to a few seconds, where the sound is often stretched from a fraction of second to much longer. In this sense the film is influenced by the way that film is able to animate inanimate things and could be viewed as a pseudo nature documentary such as David Attenborough's Life of plants, where we see the growth, life and decay of things through time-lapse photography.
