Peristalsi
The installation is a giant belly made of gelatin, whereby some speakers inside broadcast a recorded message from the artist,
a message about the creation of the artwork itself.
People are invited to get closer to the abdomen and listen to the voice through the gelatinous substance exploring the intimate relationship where the artist’s central nervous system and his capacity to consciously create a sense of things shifts to the background and gets mediated by the matter of his second brain: the intestine. An organ, whose final aim is to create a series of coordinated movements to digest, not just what we eat, but also the combination of feelings, emotions, joys and sorrows that we experience every day. That motion is called peristalsi.
