St.-Barbara's Relief

'St. Barbara's relief' is a series of stop-motion images in ceramic, made on occasion of Manifesta 9, The European Biennial of Contemporary Art in Genk, 2012.

St.-Barbara is the miners' patron saint. In the series she wipes the sweat off her forehead: she's relieved that she doesn't have to protect the Belgian miners any more. Everybody is safe and sound now.
