Silent Moments

Silent Moments

Particularly interested in documentary photography, I focused my attention in describing how society perceives LGBT community through images, and how the latter can modify the perception of a certain social group.
Stereotypes exist because they are based on something real. How is the viewer influenced from seeing a stereotyped image of a stereotyped culture?

This was my vision of what was happening in a darkroom of a gay club in London. Breaking the taboo of raw and strong sex in a pictorial and almost abstract way was the right method to express the dichotomy I feel.
Sometimes the risk is the key of a purpose and taking pictures of an unaware subject is the only way to describe the true reality.

This project is part of a bigger project documenting the different gay stereotypes. In this case I have been to a club in London, having a ‘darkroom’. The images are taken with a small analogue camera and the images are red and black because there was a tiny red light illuminating the darkroom.
