Tongue Tied

Tongue Tied

This sculpture is a critique upon the sex industry along with modern American sexual ideals. Comparing the thoughts of the disgusting and 'dirty' natural body functions with the contrasting actions of the 'dirty' and 'disgusting' exploitation, objectification, and worth engrained in our sexuality culture. Copper is the key symbolism of currency. Pennies are the lowest value of currency, yet also a symbol of wealth amongst the wealthy. The copper eyes hunger; whilst the dirty copper skin cells thrive. My hopes are for the face sized hole to lure in my audience to morph their standards and reflect upon the American culture to objectify sexuality.
