Here I sought to represent a feeling of lightness and relief, and the awareness that we are all part of the whole. When we breathe the oxygen comes into our lungs from the “outside” but, once “inside”, it becomes one with us. Hence, inside and outside are just human constructs. This painting catches the moment in which the “liberation” from the material constraints (“the matter”) occurs, and we are released from ourselves, the limits of our body, our finite time. This particular form of “Gnosis” is faced by the female protagonist of the scene.
