SCOTCH TAPE is a procession walk across the territory. It has been done in Europe, Africa and USA and last up to 6 hours. Performers evolve, the body wrapped with packing tape in the most gentle and candide manner. The piece itself is reduced to its simple form with no interaction. It interogates the notion of taboo and creates a deep encountering like here in Burkina Faso where the young performers are wrapped like traditionally deads are and where some people asked if they were coming from the ground. It frees how we accept unknown over the body and the public space. People experience the body and an energy of love. The piece creates an uncanny image, difficult to grasp and trigering expectations. Along the way, the procession becomes a celebration of life and art, contemporary art form and at the same time a tribal universal message. It activates the community space and creates an exceptional festive freedom.
