Oppression

This painting is the 5° of 10, in my Project candidate in Celeste Prize 2016.
The expressionistic and abstract figure, is dehumanized, with parties that may seem in same time arts or toothed jaws wide open in the act of giving orders and threatening. Below we can recognize the delicate flowers of Saffron represented, with deliberate contrast, more naturalistic: they are a sign of freedom and peaceful life, crushed and destroyed by the march of the monster. The choice of the flower
also refers its taste and its preciousness, symbol of inestimable value and of the sublime 'flavor' of freedom.
The 'being' has a dual glance, one eye looking ahead and up, as to a theoretical and distant goal pursued by its destructive action, the other down with hate, to entities represented symbolically by the flowers, destroying in its relentless action.
