Hinterland, from the series Still Here
Hinterland, the photograph submitted here, is one of a number of images in the series that depict fragments of my father’s body and the surface of his skin. The photograph is a witness to human fragility, and acts as a visual space between the physical and the metaphysical. It explores the idea of the skin as a container connecting outer to inner, and the boundaries and thresholds that mark out individual existence.
