February Nineteenth (I broke apart)

February Nineteenth (I broke apart)

This work is about the art of mark making and the development of sensitivity to my chosen materials. I create layers of different energies and auras in which I immerse myself. I am taking my experiences and transmitting them into a different perception of the senses. This painting was a break through in my series and opened up a new path of exploration when I added the texture of the paper towels. This specific painting is my embodiment of anxiety I have to work with everyday. I am stripping away from a narrative point of living to focus on the day to day living. This painting is the emotional existence of the time when I created "February Nineteenth(I broke apart)". Having the title named after the day, I am willing to look back and embrace what that painting reveals about my emotive mark making and organic gestures.
