the Paris diary

I was at an art residency to explore installations in Paris, 2006 when I first recorded the bell of notre dame, later I went a few times again recording the sound in 2009 not quite knowing why. When I heard that it was the centenary of Norte dame and new bells were being installed in 2013, replacing the old sometimes discordant sound, I went there to record it. Her are a few fragments of my diary over these trips much like an artists sketches in a notebook, briefly giving my favourite personal landmarks where the bell becomes an important voice of a long term companion. I am using this diary like drawings to convey what is precious to me in life and perhaps to raise questions regarding human love and also hate.
