The conscious and subconscious fear of aiding the other.

The conscious and subconscious fear of aiding the other.

The small steps forward by thousands for peaceful integration and the ten steps backwards caused by one. This painting pursues themes of underlying or heightened xenophobia within public figures and the everyday man.

The un-instinctual flinch of a good person while lending a hand, versus, the radical generalisation, racism and discrimination against what the “other” could bring to the community.

The sincere desire to help struck by tension of watching your back. The fear of our neighbour, our fellow man and the struggle to not lose our humanity.
