Paths

Caoline, indian ink and needle on wood

My artistic research is based on the combination and on the progressive accumulation of different rythmic patterns created by the repetition of single signs. Every sign acquires its own timber and a specific tonal value within the relational system created by the interaction of these patterns.

In this work every pattern creates his own architectonic space which interacts with the others; in some cases they stay separated, in other they interpenetrate each other, sometimes they get stopped and then they start again , some other times they melt together.

Every space has his own vanishing point, every space hides and reveal something within itself, hides or reveal a portion of the adjacent space and would like to produce in the observer the feeling of being presented with a choice:
which path to pursue
