chewing method
Chewing method is a video composed of four interviews recorded by a television station and that are part of an in-depth programming on economic procedures in the country.
The scenes, without postproduction and editing in a sequential manner, reveal the backstage interview narrative. The incorrect pronunciation of words produces a stuttered speech, where the interview itself turns into a tongue twister stuff. The title of the work refers to the therapeutic method used by Fraeschels, which unlike the other techniques used directly on the eloquence, consists on the patient’s subconscious mind, convincing him of his erroneous ruling.
The continuous dialectic inaccuracy and the highs and lows of the tone of voice bind similarly to the economic instability of the country, producing an overlap staggered and vacuous between real time and staging.
