SEX – Degenerare

Subject of the work, described with a few strokes of black ink, are the sexes, each one connected to the others as if they originated from a single vital principle. As if they tended to return to the ancestral unity, to mingle and meet following the force of a total and unattainable desire which is therefore poetic and disturbing.
The peaceful use of light colours contrasts with the marked black ink though leaving the drawing a balanced character, and recalling other opposites (male-female, water-fire, above-under).
It is an intimate language, deliberately convoluted and cryptic, partly degenerated which shows a will that finds the highest pleasure in the dissatisfaction.
