TAPE

TAPE

Digital Photography, Still life, Philosophy, Ideas, Mixed technique, 80x120cm
'TAPE' is a celebration of two-dimensional ontology of photography. Photography, by and large, is two-dimensional in its nature. Tape is an extremely flat object which appears to be almost two-dimensional. I chose tape to directly respond to the two-dimensional quality of photographic image. When it is photographed in two-dimensional composition, the image appears to be visually almost the same as the real tape. In other words, 'TAPE' raises a question, "What is real?" and "What is image?" by photographically bridging the gap between the real tape and its image.
