Concrete Cast (Part of the Furniture)

Drawing on Surrealism and dreams, My painting explores themes of contemporary versus traditional female identity.
Some Interiors, especially domestic interiors, have become synonymous with female roles; In my work I want to portray interiors as the oppressive spaces that have become synonymous with female oppression.
My painting depicts a nude pregnant women cast into a concrete wall. The woman has become part the interior.
