Made of plastic
What’s also relevant is the association of plastic with aspects of ego (in a broad sense); the parts that are contrived, fictitious, pretended, pseudo superficial, mass produced. This idea manifests physically in the contemporary world through the use and abuse of plastic surgery to achieve aesthetic ‘perfection’.
The culmination of this imagery and the way that it is composed talks about the focus that society places on the external, how this layer or veil of judgment and expectation can obscure one’s ability to truly see and feel Self, the internal and external pain that develops as a result.
