"Family Memories" consists of two sealed books that contain a central mobile part (cloth with traces of paint) where is placed a small mirror. The four faces stiff become the four pillars of my family. The front of the work (photo in Prize) is dedicated: to the left the figure of my grandfather where emerges a picture of his lamp (point of light for the family), his coat, all covered by cement (refer to his job); the center I, reflection of the world, the present and the figures around me; right my brother with his childhood photo, the rose of my degree (a reference to his profession and to our relationship) and finally the copper wire which incorporates the rose form a circle becoming the complementary part of my being (the form of the mirror). In the back (not visible in the photo of Prize) one side is dedicated to my mother with pictures of highways, a cage of rose thorns that emphasizes a search for escape even by prejudices; at the center back of me that has absorbed the trace of the mother's side (the red color present under the thorns); Finally, on the right my grandmother submerged by hanger, cloth and lace and flanked by the figure of my uncle. The faces of the two grandfathers are joined in the thickness of their book. Visible and foldable from all four sides assumes multiple forms of exposition, not only resting on the horizontal plane but also developable in height. A work on memory, on family, on roots, on symbols and colors that describe an intimate journey and an arrival conscientious of who I'm now.
