CANTO TERZO

CANTO TERZO

This work deals with the very current theme "of moving entire populations from their countries to other nations". And these tragic movements often take place by sea on crumbling and dangerous boats; I immediately remembered the description of a paragraph in Dante's hell in the Divine Comedy where Charon brings the souls of the dead to shore with his boat. The paper boat is precarious, nothing is more temporary and ephemeral than a paper boat put in the water!

Inspired by the third song of the hell of the divine comedy:

"and here we are coming by ship
an old man, white by ancient hair,
shouting: woe to you prave souls!
never hope to see the sky.
