Melih is the only child of a family of teachers, his father was drawing and his mother was writeing, which eventually led him to world of art. FRANCESCA FINI (Italy) - Performance Francesca Fini is an interdisciplinary artist mainly focused on new media, experimental cinema and performance art. She lives and works in Rome. The focus of her work is always the body and its own narrative power, but inserted in a sort of exuberant "multimedia pot" where live videoart pieces are mixed with generative audio, lo-fi technologies and homemade interaction design devices, with handicraft masks, bizarre costumes and feminist steam-punk props popping out everywhere. Among the most important art events in which she participated in the last few years, we would mention the 2011 WRO Biennale in Poland, the River-to-River Festival in New York, the ADD Digital Art Festival in Rome, Laguna International Art Prize in Venice, the Venice International Performance Art Week, FILE Festival in Brasil, the Berlin Directors Lounge, Ikono Tv Festival and the Rapid Pulse Performance Art Festival in Chicago. In 2014 she was selected for the Margaret Guthman Musical Instrument Competition, organized by the Georgia Institute of Technology. She was also invited in Kolkata, where she lectured and performed at the Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute. In 2014 and 2016 she was artist in residence at the Watermill Center, the performance art lab directed by Bob Wilson. In 2015 she directed in Rome the firts edition of HI> DANCE Festival, dedicated to contemporary dance and technology. In the same year she won the Prix Université Blaise Pascal des étudiants and the Prize Conseil Général du Puy-de-Dome during Videoformes Festival in Clermont-Ferrand. She is currently working on a new experimental feature film with the collaboration of Cinecittà Istituto Luce. What attracts me to the project is it collective and "open-source” nature, so to speak. In perfect dada style - and Dadaism is always my cultural reference, in a chaotically contemporary key. I have participated in many other projects so innovative in terms of the unconventional and avant-garde conceptualization of electronic means (see for example "The Cure" by Salvatore Iaconesi, a collective work of art created to find a cure for the artist’s brain tumor). "Punctuation marks in a sentence of Eternity" seems a very contemporary "exquisite corpse” trying to create a bridge between video and performance - which are two seemingly irreconcilable languages that, in my work, I also try to tame and bring together in the same creative dimension. Paul Lorenz (USA)- Music With an education in Bauhaus architecture and fine art, Paul Lorenz has carved an intriguing niche in the international art world: bridging the principals and immediacy of painting, drawing and sound with the logic and detail of architecture. All three media are a balance of physical structure (wood, canvas, paper); visual structure (brush strokes, scrapes, tears, lines); and color, whether overt or atmospheric, allowing the process to be the final subject. Graphite drawings are an important section of Paul’s work. Based upon drafting exercises from his years studying architecture, his drawings depict abstraction in its purest form, geometry. Though minimal in logic, the drawings contain richness in developed space and positive/negative relationships. The idea behind the graphite drawings is now being developed to encompass sound and composition...audible poetry. Each sound piece starts with a conceptual idea of how math and emotion can combine. The drawing dictates the direction and time, but the composer ultimately dictates the order, the complexity and the flow. Each piece has a distinct structure that every musician is given the freedom to explore within. After graduating from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago, he went on to study oil painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the International School of Art in Italy (under Nicolas Carone and Irving Petlin) and the University of California, Berkeley. Paul exhibits with numerous galleries in the USA and Europe. As a member of Pintura Fresca, an international group of abstract artists, he has exhibited worldwide, with past exhibitions in Australia, Singapore, Austria, England and Sweden. Paul had his first solo exhibition in Europe in 2009 at Galerie Daniel Vignal in Toulouse, France. Paul was the only US resident to participate in the historic Realites Nouvelles exhibition in Paris in 2012 and 2013. Yuval Meskin - Actor & Artistic Advisor Actor, narrator, music editor and presenter on the "Kol Israel" Radio station. Neil Ira Needleman (USA) - Text I was born in Brooklyn, New York toward the middle of the last century. I've held a camera in my hand for as long as I can remember. Over the decades, the cameras may have changed, but my passion for tinkering with moving images hasn't. I LOVE it. And I intend to keep doing it. Despite the fact that my videos are regularly screened in film festivals around the world, I have slowly come to realize that I’m not the only one who can tolerate watching them. More recently, I've extended my creative vision to include other visual arts, including pattern making, sculpture, and installations. Tariq Shah (USA)- Text Tariq Shah is a poet and fiction writer living and working in Brooklyn, NY. His chapbook, 'a sedge of bitterns,' was a finalist for the 2015 No, Dear / Small Anchor Press chapbook contest. He was born and raised in the wilds of the Chicago hinterland, and has works appearing or forthcoming in Denver Syntax, TASTY Magazine, BlazeVox, Ink Monkey, The Rampallian, and other publications. As a person of biracial (Pakistani/Polish/German) ethnicity, raised in an Islamic/Catholic household, comfortably middle class and then decidedly lower upon the death of his father in the age of fifteen, questions of identity have been a natural aspect of his upbringing, and provide a complex subtext to his experiences of the world. Stories about the relationship between power and morality, past and present, rationality and absurdity, disparities between peoples’ hopes and outcomes—Shah stories are examinations into these conflicts and their outcomes in the real world. hroughout all the acts, Shillo chose to assert the presence of Death by using images of the cemetery which are shown by video art screenings at the back of the stage. "Punctuation marks in a sentence of Eternity"- the video art , 2014
"Punctuation marks in a sentence of Eternity"- the video art , 2014 By Ynin Shillo Is the core of the show. The video art is a part of the large scale Project called "Yearning" in which Shillo uses the images of the Mount of Olive cemetery in order to conduct an artistic research about unifying human emotions. The Mount of Olive cemetery is the most ancient active cemetery in the world. Here you watch the video art that I sent to the participating artists, which consist of music I created myself. The video art was exhibited in the Tower of David museum as a part of the main venue of the Jerusalem Biennale 2015. The choice to shot a cemetery stemmed from the desire to understand in depth and from an ongoing experience what is written in the verse in Ecclesiastes Chapter VII: "טוֹב לָלֶכֶת אֶל-בֵּית-אֵבֶל, מִלֶּכֶת אֶל-בֵּית מִשְׁתֶּה--בַּאֲשֶׁר, הוּא סוֹף כָּל-הָאָדָם; וְהַחַי, יִתֵּן אֶל-לִבּוֹ" It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart. The decision to shoot at the Mount of olives cemetery derived from the symbolism of this cemetery to the longing for for redemption. "After two years that I visited almost daily at the Mount of Olive Cemetery I gained a deep inner conscious experience of the the verse in Ecclesiastes. I can sum it in a nutshell to the understanding that death is here, it is not urges us to arrive, he is anyway waiting for all of us; There is no reason to rush or doubting yourself on the way because in any case we will eventually arrive to him. Creating the show I have contacted artists of different backgrounds, styles and medium in order to document their reactions and emotional processes and their art in relation to the subject. Each participating artist began by watching "Punctuation marks in a sentence of Eternity"- The video. Some of the artists that appear on stage improvises. After receiving the materials from the artists I involved the processing of the various materials received from artistic reactions and responses of the artists into one unified creation
