The term transubstantiation indicates the conversion of the substance of bread and wine into the body of the substance and the blood of Christ that takes place during the Eucharistic celebration when the priest and the Eucharistic prayer, invokes the Father to send the Holy Spirit to transform the bread and wine into the body and blood of Christ.
