'Jungle'

The inspiration for the painting was taken from the song by Grandmaster Flash - The Message.
The song tells of life in the ghetto, of bloody Harlem, of despair and great dreams that are shattered. The rare combination of powerful text and sound has done its part and left me a deep impression ever since. The staring figure in the painting emerged from the thicket of this jungle called "life" after a long time in which he was imprisoned.
