Lifecycle
A multi-media installation. Upon a TV a real-time simulation of micro-organisms runs in real-time. They are programmed to move, eat, reproduce and eventually die. Watching the TV is a machine made of ceramic eyes and a system of tubes. Using artificial intelligence processes, whenever the eyes see that an organism dies, it pumps liquid around its body.
This is an exploration of machines which don't act for people, but only react to each other. I am interested in how we define life and intelligence when confronted with something life-like that mirrors our own processes.
