Blue

While I was working on this painting I tired to challenge myself in expressing my experiences of the landscape metaphorically. The landscape presented in this work is not just a physical object but an object of my experience and desire. I would like my paintings to preserve the traces of my exploration of the surroundings. I was inspired by Chinese and Japanese landscape painting and I was specifically interested in different ways of presenting the depth of field. The landscape is based on my memories and experiences and when I was doing it I tried to 'layer my own landscape'.
