SHOTGUN SEAL
A series about The Tides came from visits to the ocean, the life and death, seashells and seaweed, communities of pelicans and sanderlings, rock formations and more. This was a sad discovery that a seal had been shot by shotgun and we came upon the shotgun shell. A more overt statement for me than usual but one I wished to make.

ORIGINS
DIPTYCH: The booted woman and the tangled seaweed connect in surreal fashion, both sharing the ephemeral reality of surely to be gone from this life one day. Perhaps one will be a fossil found in future millenia, or not.
THE TREES, HEXAPTYCH
HEXAPTYCH of THE TREES from a series of trees that are calligraphic, suggest musical scores, with assorted backdrops of sky and clouds and sunset. I visited many times before they were cut down and some are of similar branches and seeds, from slightly different angles.
THE VAPER AND THE FLY
Diptych A slightly ominous suggestion of the mortality of us all and how we flirt with it. The fly, expired, lay in a silver spoon. The vaping woman was a 'Drive-by' caught while in motion on the road.
REFLECTIONS WITHIN
DIPTYCH The surreality of a moment from 1972, entwined with one from 2016. Distant times and faraway places but uniting for a common task of color play. Matters of time and space, life and death, memories and illusions are often found in my images and stories.
