The art of weaving has become a metaphor referring to the life of men, because in the collective imagination of the ancients the weave of the fabric, the intertwining of the different threads, the infinite possibilities of creative solution that the weaving gave, were identified with the paths of the life of individuals, of peoples, of individual destinies. Often the metaphor on the threads and the weaving has been linked to the meaning of man's destiny. In this sense, mythology has given us the most suggestive stories.
