The sky meets the earth

History begins
The myth of the encounter between Gaea (the earth) and Uranus (the sky) is very ancient and it is probably of Persian origin.
It is possible to consider it as the oldest cosmogonic myth of Western civilization.
I love it and have seen it many times in my dreams.
Lightning is a natural phenomenon which I fear and which fascinates me at the same time. I have "seen" this scene many times with my mind's eye but I have only dreamed of it once.

lightning crosses the sky
dispersed in a thousand directions
in a thousand rivulets like a river or perhaps an artery
roots still trembling at the bottom of a magical plant just torn from the earth
faster than a synapse
invisible light
fertilizing ecstasy

kidnapped in the shadow by her own flesh
thrown golden sword

only silence a moment before

Here this vision accompanied me during a morning of three or four years ago as I started my usual day, my day as a painter
I remember that there was a beautiful light in Sicily where I have one of my studios
there was enough silence
outside Sky was perfect
only in my mind did the storm take place
but only that storm
once awake
cleared my Sky
