"Sakura Nipponica Fenomenosa or Complex Simplicity " (kanji, kana & romaji)
The rectangular sand & stone container depicts a miniature version of the Zen Garden, as a symbol of Simplicity. On the left, there is a traditional metal teapot with two cups for Tea-an important aspect of the social life in Japan. The white brick wall in the background contains the engravings of about 100 Japanese names and brands that have engraved themselves in western vocabulary and society. Painted in memory of Hiroshima & Nagasaki victims.
