Cascade on Glass, wire tree sculpture
26 gauge copper wire outside. Copper wire is spaced to allow portions of the steel wire to show, giving the effect of slight highlights. The leaves of the tree are created by hammering flat each of the ends of the twig wires. All the leaves are painted in jade green using enamel paint. The tree, and a very interesting shape of driftwood, are mounted on a 1/4" thick square piece of plate glass. All is bound together in sand and pebbles. The sand is painted using India ink to look like moss. The overall piece has the feel of a majestic island reflected in a sea of glass.
