The work depicts a bunch of books and miscellaneous objects that can be found on the desk of a writer like Tolstoy. The work is made on recycled packaging cardboard, cut out as a template, painted with pigments and vinyl glue, and glued on a wooden plywood board, also recycled with the same shapes. The shapes, however, are assembled on the plywood in an unnatural and unrealistic way. That is, masses perpendicular to a hypothetical desk, so that the observer loses the mimetic and illusionistic aspect of the painting, thus transporting the work to a more abstract plane.
