Plenty of paper boats, having challenged the waves of the Ionio Sea, make of a stretch of the Calabrian Coast both an arrival and a starting point, both a craved and transient destination.
It is a symbolic land, where those 114 small boats have shored, or have been wrecked, with their cargo of Koran Suras.
It is a land animated by silent waiting and far-seeing requests, put in the hands of men’s actions and travels, throughout time and space.
It’s a hanging land, from where the culture’s principles and credo move, spreading, and that culture does not seem to be so far on the horizon, not anymore.
