Women of the Fur
In Africa, west of Sudan, there is a region called Darfur.
In this land has had an ongoing conflict between black and Arab population, and as in all wars there are thousands of deaths and refugees.
The camps have become the only way out and here we try to construct some 'normal life, but teenagers as indiscriminate attacks affecting older women.
The militias use rape as a form of intimidation and torture, with the aim of spreading terror and shame in the communities of Darfur.
Through my work, "The hand of silence", n.18 engravings on plates of zinc, narrative expressions of the tragic situation in Darfur, the periphery of the world, a place of hell.
