MEA CULPA...la mela

MEA CULPA...la mela

Painting, Nude, Portrait, Sacred / Mythological, Mixed technique, 220x250x5cm
It is Inspired by the iconographic atlas for excellence that is the Bible, the artist Roberta Coni tells us a myth that is the origin of our humanity and it has always pervaded the art, faith, Western culture, but she giving us a new vision that does not meet the ethical and iconographic classics canons: Eve and the original sin.
Eve's naked body is inserted into the precious frame that one hand symbolize the historical path and the other hand it is an homage to Beato Angelico's triptych into the Diocesan Museum of Cortona (Ar) .

Her Eve already get older, she is holding in her hand a shell symbol of receive, of letting it flow, just as the shell receives the sea without restraining him, so we should let life flow without trying to stop it.
High in the round hole there is a video with an apple, which slowly rot to come back to life in an endless loop.
In this work the artist tries to marry the classic tradition of figurative painting with a video art (in collaboration with Alessandro Anemona) .
