Initially "AIDS Series/Geisha in Bath" was done in watercolor on a large scale canvas in 1988. The size was 108 x 81 inches: Collection of Queensland Art Gallery/Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Later on the artist decided to make another take on the same imagery although subtle but obvious changes Teraoka had made on geisha's hands and calligraphy.
