“EXPLOSUS”
Using one of the visual symbols of conflicts like in Iraq, Afganistan, former Northern Ireland, etc. I’m looking for a new definition of the vehicle, a generalization and simplification of the concept itself. Moreover, the conceptual level, which is reflected in the explosion and the metamorphosis.
Our age is characterized by self-images that are composed of small particles/pixel. These 2-dimensional pixel are an important component because none of those is replaceable. This world is nothing more than pixels; a digital realization of reality. Therefore, the symbolic character is so much larger and more important. In this project the pixel appear as 3-dimensional cubes, creating sharp outlines and a conscious sense of connection to the room. The challenge has been the visualisation of the prototype (the car) and its coining destruction (explosion) by a car bomb. The work is not emphasizing on a certain cultural background or religious belief. The topic of the car bomb is used as a methaphoric solution of a broad subject - it points on a choreography of violence in society and is of a symbolic character.
