NO is the word that marks the beginning of our path to a sense of individuality in early childhood. With time, differentiation from our surrounding world manifests in many different and complex manners, not necessarily clear but most certainly peculiar.
The use of somewhat wayward materials such as a wax-based paint with simple water based paint, is an attempt to represent this play in our search for identity. The form of the body traced directly on the paper emerges with its spatial extensiveness, yet molded as luminous essence, visible only as a result of the integration with the surrounding darkness. Limits and boundaries define themselves or fade and dissolve, from the depth of our shadow surfaces the mystery of our being.
