Political party (with spiritual leader and supporters)

So let me try to explain / guess what is going on here. A small political party is promoting its manifesto in view of some general election. The spiritual leader decided to have the final speech on the edges of some open fields in his native, “evergreen”, countryside. Despite the expectations, however, the attendance failed to be impressive; now even the two glamorous party members are pay little attention to their brave leader.
