This painting expresses my consistent desire in defining how we look at a painting on a wall, but I had a desire to see something else within it too. To define that… I wanted to make something that I wouldn’t hold to much attachment too. The paint needed to be thick but not too thick, the shapes needed to define only themselves and the landscape in which they thrive. The fragments of face had to be real with a willingness to be unreal, and the piece as a whole shall not be viewed in one perspective, as nothing should be in our daily environments. My paint does not enjoy forcing meaning onto itself. It is dirt and oil on paper to view and be viewed.
