The work is a reflection on the Sicilian territory and the identity, on the recognition and fiction of the sites, reality and fantasy, preconceptions and stereotypes, using images and music from the film by Pietro Germi "Sedotta e abbandonata" (Seduced and Abandoned, 1964) as material of work.
In the video, scenes of the film are mounted and reshuffled so as to create new readings, new stories possible to decipher, but is not possible achieved an unambiguous, correct interpretation.
The video loop is projected on a canvas on which is painted a frame of the video. The projection lights the painting and yet disturbing the reading of it, and also is disturbed by it.
Anything is possible, nothing is as it seems.
The work was realized during an artist residency at the Civic Museum of Caltabellotta in August 2009, and is now part of the museum collection.
