L'Aquila. On 6th April 2009 at 3.32 am the city of L'Aquila and many towns around it were struck by a 6.3 Mw magnitude earthquake. 300 persons died and 1500 were injured, the earthquake left 65.000 homeless. After three days from the distaster, the Italian Government announced a reconstruction plan: in September 2009 the homeless population would receive a new house. At the end of December 2009, more than 30.000 persons are still homeless, the reconstruction plan provided people new buildings leaving the town's Historical centers of L'Aquila territory untouched with no Economical Development in sight.
