Hotel North America is a journey through the northern province of Italy characterized by spaces and traces left by humans that usually inhabit them. A journey born from a need to document places of transit seemingly lifeless but full of great introspective tension. There are many parallelisms with a certain type of cinematographic and photographic representation of the American district style, my research comes exactly within the trip. It's neither the beginning nor the goal but what happens following a road. Often getting lost through the glass of a car or of a small train, in which the view of the landscape is still clear. See little things that fill the spirit of an atavistic pleasure/pain, almost primordial. Human flavors without, or almost, his presence. Feel the transition, understand the signs that leaves in a community. So, from a chair leaning against the edge of a highway with a bottle of water by now evaporated, to a long and deserted street just waiting to be trampled by tires or posters with and without images on them. Here you are a window on the province, where we can still see signs of what appears crystallized and timeless, apparently unchangeable but able to mutate.
