An image of a part of the Applecross peninsular, (North West Scotland), looking out towards the island of Raasay. This is a stunnningly beautiful mountainous area, but one in which the inhabitants suffered terribly in the ninetenth century. This was a time when barbaric landlords ousted local small farmers,(crofters) to make way for sheep, which were more profitable than the crofters' rents.
Such a beautiful area, but also you can feel its sadness trapped in the derelict farmsteads.
