Praying Mantis

This work was constructed for a project aimed at enlarging something very small using recycled materials. I studied live specimens of praying mantises and modeled the large version directly after the real insects. I used recycled materials such as cardboard, water bottles, foam, bubble wrap, and cardboard boxes from local businesses. The piece was then wrapped in cotton cloth, and spray painted to finish.
