A portrait of the artist as states of mind, video Installation site specific, 2 channels, colour, stereo, Palazzo Litta, Milano, 2005
Site specific work created for the former prison in Florence, now a space for contemporary art & architecture in 2001 and for Teatro Litta in Milan (2005). Liquid video images that trace various states of being, frames of mind, are suspended in the air in the midst of the space. A diving trip in the artist’s states of mind which reproduce in digital images the idea of mental associations of the “stream of consciousness” by James Joyce. In A portrait of the artist as states of mind the audience is led out of itself, observes the other in his inside to create his own way, where chaos and creation fight to generate an empathic contact between the conscious self and the other. A hypnotic rhythm transforms the liquid images according to the relative intensity of the sound.
