Naturalis Historia

Naturalis Historia

Painting, Abstract informal, 130x185x5cm
In “Tactile Memorandum” cycle it is possible to read the tail of Nature on fine ceramic little boards –having the same dimension of post-it small sheets- drawn close one to each other as puzzle pieces. The use of ceramic reminds remote eras and archaic writings, recalls the instant in which Man becomes conscious about himself and his being in History: teaching to descendants is actually printing signs in clayey material.
The two-dimensional feature of memorandum is contradicted by their bending, folding and being added, and by a tactile writing which increases the material and sign component.
Nature and human perception aren’t two different kingdoms, but a single and indissoluble reality; in the same way human observations about materials and biological elements implicate and confuse artificial elements and undecipherable anthropic signs.
Surfaces ripple and wrinkle, seem ploughed by flaws, corrosions and scars: History of Nature is made as much by organic stratifications as by memory’s sediments.
