Proposition 262

Proposition 262's support is wood gilded with 22kt gold. The form breaks the rigid square support of the wall and is built-up with countless layers of reclaimed architectural paint that is used for its physical nature and thus develops beyond the initial structure of the wooden plane. Layers of pigment and varnish cover the architectural paint to touch on the chromatic nature of the medium and finally give the white brushed oil paint "patchwork" a somewhat translucent ground on which to float and divide the form of the square.
