The main idea is that all beings are sentient and spiritual -or to phrase in the words of Sakyamuni, the founder of Buddhism, “All existences have Buddhahood.” Applying to artistic creation, it means that an artwork has its own life – a life that manifests differently according to the concerning lighting, place/space, and beholder. With a life, an artwork will be able to communicate with the viewers, to awaken their innate Buddhahood and to evoke their appreciation of Buddha dharma. How then to explore various media/materials and to demonstrate that each has its distinct vitality?
