The question the ghost asked
I am interested in the physiological process of how we see the world and incorporate this in the work I create. I reflect upon changing focus; seeing not only what is visible, but also the non-visible, yet possible. I am fascinated by history/memory, which is formed by both the individual and the group. Through layering I hope to create a sense of simultaneity referencing a great history within the artwork. I employ the grid upon which information flows and structure, or better order, is maintained or disrupted.
I do not wish to reduce the paintings to purely philosophical excavations into language and physiology no more than I wish them to be taken as pure non-objective designs. I wish to create an aesthetically positive experience for the viewer, but one that is not just a pleasant picture. The viewer should be left with a sense of possibility for the history and memory that will be.
