Pandora

Pandora

Installation, Abstract informal, Various materials, 300x400x100cm
A huge Japanese Kimono, expressing human's fear, desire, history, and hope, similar to the story of Pandora. Clothes represents what we are, and show our characters, but at the same time, clothes are part of ourselves, our cells and membranes.
I chose kimono pattern since it reminds me of ceremonies, such as funeral and weddng, consisting both tragedy and joy. Kimono itself is made out of blue tarpaulin; neither cloths nor paper, but sheets that are widespread and familiar, also symbolizing modern technology.
